1/17/2011 - Florida Biodiesel, Inc. Will Save The Biodiesel Industry Up To 5% On Production Costs.

Florida Biodiesel, Inc. has released the Cyclonic Mixer, an inline high shear blender that is 100 times more effective in mixing feedstock and catalyst for the transesterification of Biodiesel.  This new technology can lower the Methanol requirements of Biodiesel plants by 5%.

Methanol the most costly chemical used in the transesterification of feedstock into Biodiesel has been used in excess to push the chemical reaction to completion.  Biodiesel production facilities have had to employ expensive Methanol recovery apparatus to remove excess Methanol.  Alternative Biofuel production facilities can employ the Cyclonic Mixer, a passive device requiring no power or maintenance to enhance their chemical mixing capabilities, reducing Methanol requirements to 18%.  Each Cyclonic Mixer is custom engineered to order, comes in a range of sizes and housings to suite the most demanding requirements, and is ideal for all sized Biodiesel operations.

“The Florida Biodiesel, Inc. Cyclonic Mixer is a significant advance in Biodiesel technology.  Our inline high shear blender can reduce the amount of Methanol required for Biodiesel transesterification to 18% ,” says W. Gehrs President of Florida Biodiesel, Inc. “The resulting  2% – 5%  savings in Methanol expenses can make a real difference in a Biodiesel production plant’s bottom-line.”

3/24/2011 - Florida Biodiesel, Inc. Has Delivered A Biodiesel System To Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Florida Biodiesel, Inc. has completed a B-60 Biodiesel Processor sale, made by 70centsagallon.com to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.  The Biodiesel production equipment will be used to demonstrate Green Fuel technology for on-campus activities.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has chosen the B-60 Biodiesel processor as a hands-on educational tool to show students how to make renewable energy.  The B-60 Biodiesel processor requires 60 minutes of assembly time and will allow students to safely produce 45 gallon batches of Biodiesel.  “The students will process the oil they collect from the cafeteria into Biodiesel fuel for use in campus vehicles,” says Victor Garlington, Director of Client Services at 70CentsaGallon.com.  “The B-60 is very user friendly and great for students to learn Biodiesel basics.”

4/5/2011 - Florida Biodiesel, Inc. Has Delivered B-500 Ion Exchange Towers To Port Energy.

Florida Biodiesel, Inc. has completed a B-500 Ion Exchange Tower sale, made by Port Energy.  The Biodiesel post production equipment will be used to demonstrate economical high speed cleaning and polishing. This new technology can lower the filtering requirements of Biodiesel plants by 5%.

The B-500 Ion Exchange Tower is designed to be used in pairs as a “lead” tower and a “lag” tower.  Each Ion Exchange Tower holds 880 pounds of any Ion Exchange Resin, and has a flow rate of 5 gallons per minute.  Alternative Biofuel production facilities can employ the B-500 Ion Exchange Tower, a passive device requiring no power to enhance their Biodiesel filtering capabilities, reducing production costs, and is ideal for all sized Biodiesel operations.

“The Florida Biodiesel, Inc. B-500 Ion Exchange Tower is a significant advance in Biodiesel technology.  Our inline passive filter can reduce costs of meeting ASTM specifications for Biodiesel by 5%,” says W. Gehrs President of Florida Biodiesel, Inc. “The resulting savings in filtering and polishing expenses can make a real difference in a Biodiesel production plant’s bottom-line.”
